# Turn a meeting into a plan

> Leave a client meeting with clear decisions, owners, and linked follow-up tasks.

Use this workflow for a kickoff, weekly check-in, or project review. You will
need a Kato workspace, a meeting, and access to the related client or project record.

<Steps>
  <Step title="Bring the context into the meeting">
    Open the meeting, link the client or project record, and add the questions
    you need to resolve. If you want scheduled meetings in Kato,
    [connect Google Calendar](/integrations/google-calendar) first.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Record decisions and next steps">
    Keep notes in the meeting. Separate decisions from actions: "Use the new
    brief" is a decision; "Send the revised brief to the client" is an action.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Give each action an owner">
    Create a task for each next step, assign the person responsible, and set a
    due date when needed. Link the meeting and relevant record so the next
    person can find the context without reading a separate thread.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Prepare a follow-up">
    Ask Kato to draft a concise summary of the meeting's decisions and open
    tasks. Review the draft against your notes before sharing it with the client.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Check the result">
    Open each task and confirm its owner, status, due date, and links. At your
    next check-in, review the tasks and update their status as the work progresses.
  </Step>
</Steps>
