Get to know the sidebar
Object names are configurable. Your role, enabled apps, plan, and personal
sidebar preferences can change what appears. A missing sidebar item does not
necessarily mean its data was deleted.
Find a client or project
1
Check the workspace
Look at the workspace name in the top-left corner. If you belong to more
than one workspace, select the name and choose the one that contains the work.
2
Open Search
Select Search in the sidebar. Enter a distinctive part of the item name,
such as Relio. Search can show both matching records and tasks.
3
Open the matching result
Check the item’s name and type before opening it. If a client and a project
have similar names, choose the record that matches the work you mean.
In this example, Relio has a Project badge. The preview on the right
shows its attributes before you open it. Use the arrow keys to navigate
results, Enter to open one, and Esc to close Search.
4
Check the details
Read the record’s attributes and related work. You have found the right item
when its details match the client or project you intended to open.
Move between an overview and an item
A list answers “What needs my attention?” A detail panel answers “What does this specific item require?” Opening a task’s details lets you inspect its properties and description while keeping the surrounding work in view. Try the same pattern with a task:- Select Tasks in the sidebar.
- Open a task you recognize.
- Review its description, assignees, status, and due date.
- Open its linked record, if one is present, to understand the client or project.
- Return to the task list to choose the next item.
Ask a question without leaving your work
Select Ask Kato in the page header where it is available. The assistant opens alongside your work. Name or mention the item you want to discuss, then ask a focused question such as “What tasks are still open for Relio?” Select a task card to inspect its details in the side panel. In this example, Define the homepage message for CRE teams opens with its status, assignee, priority, and description. Use the back control beside the conversation title to return to the answer. Use Ask Kato explains mentions, conversation controls, example requests, and how to check the response.Adjust your sidebar
Right-click a navigation item such as Home and select Customize sidebar. The same menu includes Hide from sidebar for that item and Sidebar settings for additional preferences. In customization mode, drag the handles to reorder items and use the switches to show or hide navigation items and sections. Select Save when you finish. These preferences help you organize your own navigation; they do not rearrange a teammate’s sidebar. Can’t find something?
I can see the item in another workspace, but not here.

Workspaces have separate data and membership. Switch to the workspace that
owns the item instead of creating a duplicate in the current one.

Review the view’s filters. Open the object or use Search to find the record,
then check which attribute keeps it out of the filtered view.

Check your sidebar preferences first. If the item is still unavailable, ask
your workspace administrator about your role and the workspace’s enabled apps.
